Survey Technician

TRC is currently interviewing Survey Technicians (SUG) to join our Manassas, VA Strategic Underground (SUG) and Rural Broadband Programs.
This position will be working with a Land Surveyor and assisting in developing survey databases, boundary, topographic surveys, and construction staking, for engineering design projects and commercial surveying clients.
Responsibilities:
Surveys consist of topographic, boundary, subdivision, ALTA, construction layout to determine the locations of natural and man-made features.
Operate survey instruments such as robotic total stations, data collectors, GPS, and other standard survey equipment to collect field data.
Interpret construction plans, perform necessary calculations in the field, and perform construction layout.
Physical Requirements Ability to work in the outside elements of the field up to 100% of the time.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
Required to remain standing for a minimum of eight (8) hours per day and walk long distances.
Set up, minor maintenance, and operation of all field survey equipment, vehicles, and supplies.
Possess talent to act as a positive representative of the company and its core values.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Professional Certifications and Experience Associates, High school diploma or GED.
Prior Instrument Operator experience preferred.
Familiar with field procedures for performing boundary, topographic, ALTA/ACSM land title surveys.
