Civil Engineer, PEto join our growing Design Management Services team in Manassas, VA.
The ideal candidate will have experience in site design, roadway, stormwater management, grading, drainage, and utility design.
This position has the unique ability to partner with and learn from some of the best engineers, project managers, and other technical staff in the industry.
Our Civil Engineers are part of a site development team where they will design improvements including site layout, utilities, grading & drainage, erosion control, and stormwater management for a wide range of private and public clients throughout Virginia, North Carolina and the US.
ResponsibilitiesLead engineering design and support on a wide variety of commercial, industrial, and institutional development projects for diverse client baseInvolved in all project aspects including design/study development, construction management, project management, RFI's/RFPs/Submittals and client meetingsPrepares sketches, drawings, and specifications for a project from verbal or written instructionConducts engineering analyses and calculationsPrepares and organizes designs and details to produce a complete set of drawingsResearching and writing reports/opinionsUtilization of various engineering related computer softwareCompiling project specificationsCompleting construction cost estimatesGaining project approvals through local, state, and federal agencies, including meetings with agencies and responding to commentsInvolved in all project aspects including design/study development, design team meetings construction administrationConduct site visits, surveys and inspections, and assist with data collection, compilation and assessment for civil/site infrastructure projectsEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, clients, and public agenciesBachelor's Degree or higher in Civil EngineeringPE is required5-15 years of proven civil engineer experienceExperienced in land development, grading, drainage, erosion control, stormwater management, and utility designExtensive experience using computer assisted engineering and design software to prepare engineering and design documents (examples include software such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and GIS)Ability to execute engineering best practices on a wide variety of projects for a wide variety of clients, adapting to new environments quicklyStrong communication and interpersonal skillsMust be flexible, well organized, accountable, and dependablePhysically able to perform work in the fieldEITAbout TRCGroundbreaker.
