76 an hour 7 days ago 7 days ago 7 days ago Introduction The Prince William Department of Social Services seeks to hire a highly motivated individual to fill a Human Services Caseworker Associate position on the Prevention Team in the Protective Services Division.
The Prevention Team works with families who are at high risk for child abuse and neglect.
The Human Services Caseworker Associate coordinates with the Human Services Caseworker to deliver services to clients by conducting home visits, supervising visitation and providing transportation to appointments.
In addition, the Human Services Caseworker Associate will assist clients to overcome barriers to meet their personal, social, health and economic needs.
The Human Services Caseworker Associate will also be responsible for assisting with collecting and maintaining statistical information about clients in their programs and recording information in case records.

ABOUT THIS ROLE The ideal candidate will have experience working with at-risk children and families in a human services environment; experience assisting families to overcome personal, social, health and economic barriers; and, experience linking and referring clients to appropriate services and community resources based on the identified service needs and risks.
You will be responsible for entering, correcting, and retrieving information from an automated system and completing comprehensive searches of databases.
You must be responsible and able to work with limited supervision.
You will need to effectively communicate clearly both orally and in writing, have excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills and be able to approach difficult situations with composure.
The Prince William Department of Social Services staff of over 480, serve the community through adult and child-welfare programs, public benefits distribution, and homeless prevention services.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

and 2 years of related experience.
PREFERENCES:
The successful candidate will have Experience working with families in crisis; Experience with case management, record documentation and reports; Experience conducting home visits and providing information to families about programs and resources.
Bilingual Spanish/English preferred SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Must pass local, state and federal background checks and have a valid driver's license.
All DSS staff members are required to provide emergency human services work in the event of an community disaster.
