GENERAL SUMMARY
The Pump & Power Driver II delivers and recovers construction equipment, tools and supplies to and from the customer worksite safely and efficiently, using a flatbed, roll-back, crane-truck or similar truck / trailer combination
Pump & Power Services is a Specialty Business within Sunbelt Rentals offering Large Pumps, Generators, Air Compressors, Trench Shoring, Temperature Control Equipment and Desiccant Dehumidifiers to Specialty Contractors, often including the setup and management of projects in a contractor-like capacity. The services provided by this business include after hours response which requires frequent work outside of regularly scheduled hours.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Loads, unloads and secures equipment
Hauls equipment and supplies locally or long distances to customers and other Sunbelt locations
Performs daily commercial vehicle inspection; reports any necessary repairs to Profit Center Manager; ensures completion of necessary repairs to vehicle to support operational safety, including vehicle cleanliness to properly represent the company
Performs basic troubleshooting involving malfunctioning equipment at a job site and makes minor repairs
Completes assigned reports including inspection reports for out-going and returned equipment, log book and trip sheets so that they meet all Department of Transportation and company record-keeping reports; obtains required and accurate signatures on rental contracts, pick-up forms, and exchange forms
Efficiently travels to destinations using maps and directions for delivery routing; calculates mileage and travel times using state and local road maps
Demonstrates knowledge and proper usage of equipment to customers at point of delivery using Sunbelt Customer Service Standards for delivery service
Demonstrates Customer Service Standards in all working scenarios including professional and courteous communication with customers
Maintains a Sunbelt quality level driving record.
Attends and participates in all Profit Center Meetings
Performs other duties as assigned by the manager or authorized personnel
QUALIFICATIONS
Class B license
Valid Driver's license with Class B Commercial Driver's License certification
Valid Department Of Transportation Physical examination (medical) card
Safe driving record
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
2 years experience preferred; experience in operating roll back or tilt deck flatbed vehicles is a plus
Working knowledge of Motor Safety Regulations as well as state and local highway safety regulations within operating jurisdiction
Able to read, write and communicate effectively
General mechanical ability to make minor equipment and vehicle repairs
Mechanical ability and knowledge of and/or previous experience in driving delivery trucks, towing tandem axle utility trailers and towable construction equipment, operating safely within high traffic city zones and in small areas
Previous freight handling experience a plus
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
On a daily basis, position requires driving for many hours at a stretch, loading and unloading cargo, and considerable lifting, carrying, and walking each day. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Must be physically able to work in a jobsite environment for extensive periods to include lifting up to 50lbs, bending, squatting, crouching, reaching
Must be physically able to work in extreme conditions including heavy rain, wind or excessive temperatures
Night / Weekend work required
