We are currently seeking a Manager Laboratory within a clinical laboratory department.
The Manager of Laboratory provides leadership in achieving ongoing corporate objectives including quality, financial vitality, employee and customer satisfaction. The incumbent will be a key member on or lead Best Practice committees for laboratory services and throughout the company. Also, ensure compliance with regulatory agencies such as CLIA, recommend appropriate organizational structure and personnel plan for the laboratory, assists with the development of an equipment plan for the laboratory and oversees execution of that plan, ensures that service level standards of the laboratory are met and assists with the preparation of and oversees department budgets.
Laboratory Manager (Healthcare Sciences)
Job Requirements
Bachelors degree from a NAACLS accredited Medical Laboratory Science or Clinical Laboratory Science program required, Masters degree preferred
8 years of relevant laboratory tech and/or leadership experience preferred
MT/MLS Certification from ASCP or AMT
Full knowledge of regulatory and governing standards, policies and procedures
Preferred
Qualifications:
Current and future trends/practice in area of responsibility
Knowledge of information systems and software used in area of responsibility
Experience with equipment used in performing assigned duties
Application of safety and infection control policies and procedures
Skills in interviewing and new hire selection process
Understanding of budgeting, staffing, payroll and purchasing processes
Implementation of competency, feedback, development and progressive discipline processes
Possess an understanding of principles of adult learning and teaching methods/models
Understanding of customer needs and expectations and knowledge for improvement to exceed customer expectations
Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to foster concepts of teamwork, cooperation, self- control, and flexibility to get the work done
