Food and Beverage Manager I

IntroductionThe summer fun starts here! The Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism has 8 aquatic facilities to include:
2 indoor pools, 4 community pools and 2 waterparks.
The aquatics department serves over 400,000 visitors a year.
The Food and Beverage Manager I will be responsible for food, beverage and retail products at a Regional Water Park.
Responsibilities include; assisting the Food and Beverage Manager II with menu development, scheduling and supervision of seasonal staff, assisting in the development and implementation of operations controls necessary to ensure consistent, high quality food products and providing outstanding customer service.
The Food and Beverage Manager I will assist the Food and Beverage Manager II in pricing, product solicitation, training and policy and procedures handbooks.
May also include Manager-on-Duty (MOD) responsibilities that require opening and closing of the Water Park.
Must have or obtain Safe Serve certificate.
The Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourismconducts DMV records checks on all employees driving for work purposes and criminal background checks on all hires age 18 years and older.

GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK:
Responsible for food preparation, catering and supervision of food and beverage functions including hiring, training and supervision of all food and beverage staff.
Additional responsible for inventory control and consistency in product output.
Interfaces daily with customer and vendors.
TYPICAL TASKS:
Supervises a food and beverage plan ensuring delivery strategies:
follows established controls and monitors staff rotations;Cooks and prepares food on a daily basis and is responsible for set-up and all food preparations concession and catering operations;Develops strong professional relationships with vendors;Supervises purchasing, quality control and POS systems;Trains food and beverage personnel; teaches cooking and presentation techniques; ensures customer satisfaction;Ensures that Park Authority cash handling and internal controls are implemented;Supervise, hire and train staff;Handles paperwork including budgets, scheduling, inventory control and invoice/payables;Provides excellent customer service;Performs related work as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of inventory control, food preparation, menu development, and conducting corporate food and beverage functions.
Skills in food handling, preparation, and service while conforming to appropriate sanitation practices.
Skills in training, supervising, cost controls, and motivating staff.
Initiative and creativity in food preparation.
Excellent customer service skills.

EDUCATION AND
Experience:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a High School Diploma.
ABC training.
Safe Serve Certificate.
Food and beverage training.
Three years' experience in food and beverage operations and supervision.
All appropriate state and local licensing and permits for food and beverage service.
A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls;Must have physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to, a personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine;Must be able to lift 50lbs;Some climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking and repetitive motions.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
